As I worked with others to create Agave Center for Behavioral Health (ACBH) the focus was on how each detail could benefit those who enter its doors. Our desire was to create a space that is welcoming and comfortable. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been able to work with clients and other professionals in several counseling settings since 2007. The site is now Agave and I am thrilled to be here and to work with others to promote healing. I want to provide rich experiences through my training and expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sand Tray Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Structural Dissociation Theory. I work with individuals facing all types of mental health challenges and specialize in trauma, dissociation and attachment work. My time has been spent with children, adolescents and adults in individual, family and group settings. I see the potential in those I connect with professionally and thoroughly enjoy the work I get to do. Additionally, I appreciate all that clients and other professionals have taught me and will look forward to more growth through our involvements here at ACBH.

I am so happy you are here and thinking about therapy. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, and the first step of beginning therapy is being curious about who your future therapist might be. To me, the most important component of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. With this, my aim is to provide you with a space that is curious, safe, nurturing, healing, playful, and expressive. In this space, I’d like to help you explore feelings, identify resilience, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and experience growth. Each individual is unique, and your therapeutic treatment should reflect this uniqueness.
I use several different modalities to ensure I am meeting you where you are at. With adults, I incorporate EMDR, DBT, MCBT, and sand tray into the session. With children, toys are the language of play, and I honor that by utilizing play therapy, and sand tray in session.
Education: Master of Social Work from Aurora University.
Modalities Used: EMDR, DBT, MCBT, play therapy, sand tray

I have over 10 years of experience in the behavioral health field where I found my passion for helping others. I specialize in working with children and adolescents using play therapy. Play is the most natural form of communication for children, and by using their imagination and creativity clients can grow and heal. In particular, the use of play allows clients to express their thoughts and feelings, explore relationships, and overall work to understand/grow from their experiences. My approach when engaging clients in the playroom is focused on encouragement and is more child led. Providing the space for your child to lead, with the help of a safe adult, works to improve their self-worth and self-acceptance to handle issues or experiences outside of the playroom. I look forward to helping your child grow and be successful in multiple areas of their life.

I am a licensed Music Therapist excited to apply these skills to the wonderful people who come to the Agave Center! I spent most of my internship practicing therapy with many different populations, which is where I learned to greatly appreciate the diversity that therapy can provide. Utilizing trainings including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Neurological Music Therapy, it is my goal to use music to facilitate change and healing with any willing individual. I learned through training in Health Rhythms facilitation that music can be spiritual, enlightening, or even just fun for anyone (regardless of musical capabilities!).
